Saphlux Presents AR Full-Color mLED displays and QD-mLED Direct View Display Products at SID Display Week 2024

The SID Display Week 2024 was grandly held from May 14 to 16 at the San Jose Convention Center in California, USA. As the most influential professional event in the global display industry, SID brings together professionals and innovators from around the world to showcase the latest technologies, products, and applications.

Saphlux, as a leader in QD mLED display solutions, participated in the exhibition with its QD-mLED Direct View display modules and AR full-color and monochrome mLED microdisplays featuring the proprietary NPQD® technology, attracting widespread attention from attendees.

Quantum dot displays are no longer just a conceptual technology. In the commercial display sector, Saphlux's QD-mLED commercial display products, based on its exclusive NPQD® color conversion technology, have officially entered the mass production stage and are available on the market. At this exhibition, Saphlux showcased a QD-mLED Direct View display panel with a pixel pitch of P1.25, and set up a direct comparison with a traditional mLED direct view display panel of the same size and pixel pitch, allowing visitors to experience firsthand the significant improvement in color performance of the quantum dot direct display screen.

QD-mLED panel vs. Conventional mLED panel

Saphlux's AR mLED full-color microdisplay products aim to fill the market gap for all-scenario, all-day wearable AR glasses devices. Compared to the 0.39-inch RGB monochrome mLED microdisplay product exhibited last year, Saphlux has, over the past year, solved the problem of RGB integration in small sizes through its proprietary NPQD® color conversion technology, achieving monolithic full color and completing a product iteration upgrade from T1 to T2 version. At this exhibition, Saphlux displayed the transitional T2-0.39” full-color microdisplay and the mass-producible T1-0.12” single-green microdisplay. Additionally, Saphlux announced that by the end of this year, it will deliver the T3 version 0.26-inch single-chip full-color microdisplay with a white brightness of up to 500,000 nits and officially introduce this product into mass production.

Dr. Jie Song, co-founder and VP of Technology at Saphlux, delivered a speech at the Quantum Dot and Microdisplays sub-forum of the exhibition's technical forum. Dr. Song stated, "Quantum dot color conversion technology is currently the most effective and feasible full-color solution in the Micro-LED microdisplay field. Among the various quantum dot color conversion solutions, Saphlux's proprietary NPQD® technology boasts the highest reliability and mass production capability. We are confident that this technology will enable truly all-weather, all-scenario full-color AR glasses."
