Saphlux, Inc. Delivers Invited Paper Presentation at ICDT 2025
On March 24, 2025 (Beijing time), Mr. Shen Chen, Vice President of Strategic Development at Saphlux, Inc., was invited to attend the 2025 International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT 2025) in Xiamen. He delivered a technical presentation (invited paper) at the sub-forum — “Emissive Displays, Micro LED Displays, and Quantum Dot Related Displays (EMQ).”
The International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT), established by the Society for Information Display (SID), is a globally recognized professional conference dedicated to promoting international collaboration in display technologies and upgrading China’s display industry supply chain. This year’s event focuses on the strategic transformation of display technologies from industry following to innovation leadership, attracting top enterprises and research institutions from around the world.
In Mr. Shen’s presentation, he highlighted the latest trends and technological challenges in the AR industry:
“With Meta and Ray-Ban’s smart glasses opening up the consumer market, AI assistants are rapidly integrating into the AR device ecosystem. The next generation of AR glasses must achieve three major breakthroughs: enhanced information interaction efficiency, an expanded functional ecosystem, and deep integration with the Internet of Things. However, display module size, power consumption, and cost remain key constraints.”
“To address these challenges, Saphlux showcased its NPQD® (Nanoporous Quantum Dot) technology solution. By directly integrating RGB subpixels onto a single blue-light LED wafer, the technology overcomes traditional manufacturing limitations and delivers industry-leading quantum dot color conversion efficiency and reliability.”
Currently, the 0.13-inch monolithic full-color Micro-LED display based on this technology has entered the pilot production stage; meanwhile, the 0.13-inch monochrome Micro-LED display has entered mass production and is already being used in the development of AR devices.
Saphlux will continue to push the boundaries of Micro-LED technology, driving AR displays toward greater efficiency and lighter form factors.
