Saphlux Exhibits NPQD™ Color Conversion Technology at CIOE 2019

On September 7th, the four-day 21st China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE) came to a close in Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center.

CIOE—which is the world's leading exhibition in the optoelectronics and photonics industry—covers photo-communication, lasers, infrared, photoelectric sensors and more. Representing the entire photoelectrical supply chain, more than 3,000 photonic players displayed their cutting-edge products and technologies this year at CIOE 2019.

As one of the exhibitors, Saphlux presented the innovative NPQD™ Micro-LED color conversion technology. With this technology, Saphlux breaks through the technical bottleneck of QD-on-chip, achieving NPQD™ Micro-LED at a low cost with high LCE, small size and good reliability. This technology solves the existing material problems of light sources in mass production of Micro-LED display, and enables the small-size RGB (<30µm) high-resolution micro-LED arrays.

At present, Saphlux has developed the NPQD™ red LED. Compared to traditional QD conversion technology, NPQD™ technology achieves more than 97% absorption of (blue) pumping light and more than 80% LCE with only 3 µm thickness of red NPQD™. Red EQE can reach 40%.

Collaborating with its partners, Saphlux is now providing customized NPQD™ color conversion solutions for industry customers who are developing micro-LED displays.
