Saphlux Announced the Establishment of AR mLED Display Production Line

Xi'an, China – December 6, 2023 – Saphlux, Inc. announced the establishment of its inaugural mLED display production line for AR application.

Saphlux AR mLED Display Production Line

The completion of this production line signifies the company's preliminary capability for mass production and delivery of T-series micro-display products. Independently designed by Saphlux this production line encompasses key fabrication processes including photolithography, coating, etching, and measurement, achieving a total production capacity of 600k units of micro-LED per month.

Dr. Song Jie, Vice President of Saphlux, stated, "We have successfully upgraded the conventional 4-inch wafer process to the 8-inch wafer process which is also compatible with 6-inch wafers, enlarging the effective utilization area of wafers and reducing edge chip losses. The larger-sized wafer process also matches with the size of CMOS which often comes in 8 or 12 inches, significantly lowering production cost."

The establishment of Saphlux’s production line indicates a reduction in the cost of micro-displays used in AR glasses, thereby driving down the overall cost of the glasses. The cost reduction provides a pricing advantage for the widespread adoption of AR glasses in the market.

Starting from the first quarter of 2024, Saphlux will commence the production of the T-series monochrome and full-color micro-display products. The product range includes 0.12-inch monochrome displays, as well as  0.26-inch single-wafer full-color displays. The company also offers customized services for customers. Saphlux will continue to focus on product quality and technological innovation, aiming to provide the industry with superior micro-display products and drive the development of micro-display.
